Atsukuni (Kuni) Munetomo was born in Tokyo, Japan@in 1951. He studied at Gakusyuin (Impearl Family School) from Elementary thru High
School and graduated with a Bachelorfs degree in English Literature. He established his
first company when he was 20 years old successfully while supporting his
fatherfs flourishing company as well in wholesale and retail jewelry.
At 35, Kunifs father suffered a stroke, and coming across the word gGERONTOLOGYh changed Kunifs life drastically. He sold his business
- the 2nd largest jewelry company in Japan, and established the Gerontology Institute with
plans for a private nursing home near the Tokyo area. It did not materialize due to
the high cost of manpower to operate with a low return on investment. It was at this time
that Kuni realized it would be difficult to keep such a nursing home in Japan
without government support. He then decided to look for the best location to set up his
retirement paradise - Australia, Thailand, China, Indonesiac Then finally he found the
location in the Philippines in 1988. After much consideration, he started the Rose
Princess Home project in1996. Atsukuni Munemoto has two children His elder son
graduated from the University of the Philippines and currently works with IBM in Manila.
